🪨 Geology and Volcanic History
The appearance of the San Francisco Peaks today is dramatically different from that of the original volcano.

Ponderosa pine forests dominate much of the country around Flagstaff. With increasing elevation, the forest composition shifts through mixed-conifer and subalpine communities.
