Important: This is not a definitive range-wide ranking. Janapav and Singar Chouri are included because some government geographical sources associate them with the Vindhyan slopes or escarpment. Janapav Kuti is one of the most important high points in western Madhya Pradesh. At approximately 854 meters, it is more than 100 meters higher than Sadbhavna Shikhar.

Why is Janapav not usually called the highest Vindhya peak?

A Madhya Pradesh government action plan states that the Chambal River originates from Singar Chouri peak, which it places on the northern slopes of the Vindhyan escarpment at an elevation of approximately 843 meters.
The same document also says that the river originates at Janapav. This suggests that Janapav and Singar Chouri belong to the same immediate headwater area or that different local names are used for nearby parts of the source region.
Is Singar Chouri the same as Janapav?

Kheri is identified in the Damoh District Environmental Plan as the highest peak northeast of Singrampur, reaching approximately 586.7 meters above mean sea level.
The same document explains that the southern part of the Vindhyan range in Damoh is called the Bhander Range up to Katangi. Beyond that point, the escarpment surrounding the Singrampur valley continues as the Kaimur Range.
