This colossal mountain boasts the 12th highest summit in the world, rising to an impressive altitude of 8,051 meters or 26,414 feet. Broad Peak is renowned for its unique structure and its width, which is over 1.5 kilometers, thus earning it the name ‘Broad Peak.’

Located on the border between Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region and China’s Xinjiang region, Broad Peak serves as a natural boundary between the two countries. Broad Peak’s first successful ascent was made in June 1957 by an Austrian expedition team led by Marcus Schmuck. Since then, the mountain has witnessed numerous successful ascents, each adding to its rich mountaineering history. Despite its daunting height and challenging weather conditions, Broad Peak has a relatively low fatality rate compared to other high-altitude peaks.
